Whats New

                               The PM MITRA Park at Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu continues to advance as a mega integrated textile project aimed at boosting manufacturing, investment and employment in the sector.                           

                               Smt. Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, visited the site along with the NICDC team to review the progress of the park and engage with key stakeholders driving the project forward.                           

                                During the visit, a stakeholder meeting was convened with representatives from the State Government, implementing agencies and industry stakeholders to discuss development milestones, infrastructure readiness and investment opportunities.                           

                               As the Project Management Agency (PMA) for the PM MITRA Scheme, NICDC is supporting the Ministry of Textiles in planning, coordination and implementation to help deliver world-class integrated textile ecosystems across India.                           

                               Each milestone at PM MITRA Parks strengthens India’s vision of building globally competitive textile manufacturing hubs — from fibre to finished products.                           

                               Across India, the PM MITRA vision is unfolding at scale — strengthening India’s position in global textile value chains and driving industrial growth with employment at its core. After the resounding momentum witnessed at PM MITRA Park Dhar in Madhya Pradesh, the growth story is now accelerating in the South.  
                           
                               190.44 acres of industrial land were allotted to 23 investors on Friday by the Board of Directors of PM MITRA Park Virudhnagar, unlocking committed investments of nearly ₹2,192.21 crore with a potential for generating 15000 jobs— a powerful endorsement of the Park’s credibility and long-term potential among industry players.

What is PM MITRA?

PM MITRA (Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) Scheme is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, being implemented in collaboration with State Governments.

The scheme aims to transform the textile sector by establishing seven world-class, Integrated Textile Parks across the country. These Parks will offer Plug-and-Play facilities, bringing the entire textile value chain from spinning and weaving to processing and garmenting within a single location.
